This article explains the network requirements for myQ products and provides recommended router settings if you are having trouble connecting or staying connected.

Before changing any router settings:
If the device still will not connect, continue below.
Most myQ garage door openers and hubs only work with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Look for something like:

It means your router is combining both bands into one network.

For setup to work correctly:
A weak signal can prevent setup.
Good signal tips:
Your Wi-Fi network must be visible.

Note: WPA2 Enterprise and WPA3 Enterprise settings are not compatible with myQ products. WPA3 Personal will work if the myQ device has been updated to the latest firmware.

DHCP allows your router to assign a LAN IP address to your myQ device.
Make sure it is enabled.
Your router should support:

If you have your router's MAC address filtering enabled, it may block myQ devices.
If enabled:
Some networks block device communication.
If your device connects to Wi-Fi but not the app:
Verify inbound and outbound TCP port 8883 is open. Verify the port is not being blocked by your router or a firewall product. Not having this port open will cause the myQ Wi-Fi device to not connect to the server.
Note: User modified routers using an open-source firmware (such as DD-WRT, OpenWRT, etc.) have not been tested with myQ devices. While some of these open-source versions may work with myQ devices, compatibility is unknown.
