How to Reconnect to myQ after Changing your Router or Settings

If you've replaced your router, updated your network settings, or changed your Wi-Fi password, follow these steps to reconnect your myQ Wi-Fi myQ device. 

Before You Begin

  • Ensure you have the latest version of the myQ app.
  • Each myQ device must be reconnected individually. 
  • You may need:
    • A ladder to access your garage door opener.
    • A pin or paperclip for some device resets.
    • Your Wi-Fi network name and password.

Updating the Wi-Fi Settings for Your myQ Devices

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. On the home screen, tap on your device and follow the on-screen Offline Troubleshooting steps to update your Wi-Fi Settings.

Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener

Chamberlain Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener

  1. Clear Wi-Fi settings on the opener:
    • Using a ladder to reach your opener.
    • Locate the black adjustment button wich is rectangular and located between the Up and Down arrow buttons.
    • Press and hold the black adjustment button until the LED turns off. 
  2. Open the myQ app on your mobile device or tablet.
  3. Access settings:
    • If your app shows Menu in the bottom right corner, tap the Menu.
    • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
  4. Tap Device Management.
  5. Under HUBS, Tap the myQ device you want to update. 
  6. Tap Change Wi-Fi Settings on the bottom of the screen.
  7. Choose the picture of wall control that matches yours and follow the instructions shown on the app to activate Wi-Fi learn mode on your wall control.
    • Alternatively, on certain models, you can also press and release the yellow learn button on the motor unit 3 times to activate Wi-Fi learn mode.

      Smart Control Panel

      • Tap Menu
      • Use the down arrow and select Program by tapping the enter/side arrow
      • Use the down arrow and select Wi-Fi Setup by tapping the side arrow.

      • Lift the button cover
      • Press and release the learn button.

      Door Control Button

      • Press and hold the learn button (side) for 6 seconds, the LED under the front button will begin to blink.
  8. After completing the wall control instructions, return to the myQ app and Tap Next. 
  9. If you hear a beep, tap Yes.
    • Apple users, Tap Join to connect to the network myQ-NNN.
    • Android users, select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
  10. Enter your network password and tap Next. Your garage door opener will now connect.
  11. Tap Finish on the success screen. 
  12. Go back to the Devices screen.

    Smart Garage Control, myQ Smart Garage Hub or myQ Garage

     

    myQ Smart Garage HubSmart Garage Control

     

    1. Open the myQ app on your mobile device or tablet.
    2. Access settings:
      • If your app shows Menu in the bottom right corner, tap the Menu.
      • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
    3. Tap Device Management.
    4. Under HUBS, select the myQ device you want to update. 
    5. Tap Change Wi-Fi Settings on the bottom of the screen.
    6. Follow the instructions on the app to determine the color of the LED on the front of the Smart Garage Hub then follow the instructions below
      • Blinking blue - Setup starts automatically.
      • Solid blue - Unplug the hub and plug it back in.
      • Blinking green - clear Wi-Fi settings (see below).
      • Blinking blue and green - Cear Wi-Fi settings (see below).
    7. Apple users: Tap Join to connect to the network myQ-NNN. Android users, select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
    8. Enter your network password and tap Next. Your Hub is now connected to the internet.
    9. Tap Finish on the success screen.
    10. Go back to the Devices screen.
    Clear Wi-Fi Settings on Your Smart Garage Control, Smart Garage Hub, myQ Garage or myQ Home Bridge

    Settings Button on myQ Smart Garage Hub

    1. Locate the Settings button on the Hub.
    2. Press and hold the Settings button until the LED light on the hub starts blinking blue.
    Integrated Camera

    Note: For model numbers 87504MC, 84505RMC, B4643STMC, B6753STMC, B6753T, B4643T, B6765, and B4545, follow the steps for How to Update the Wi-Fi settings on a Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener.

      1. Log into your myQ account.
      2. Access settings:
        • If your app shows Menu in the bottom right corner, tap the Menu.
        • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
      3. Tap Device Management.
      4. Under Cameras, tap on the Camera you wish to update Wi-Fi settings.
      5. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings on the bottom of the screen.
        • If you cannot access Change Wi-Fi Settings through the Device Management screen, click on your device on the home screen to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connection.

      1. Find the button on the side of the camera and press and hold for 20 seconds. You should see a flashing blue light.
      2. Tap Next in the app.
        • If Bluetooth is not enabled, a notification will appear asking to enable.
      3. Tap your Camera on the Discovered screen. 
      4. Select your home's Wi-Fi network name from the list. 
      5. Enter your network password and tap Next.
      6. Name your camera and tap Finish.
      7. Go back to the Devices screen.
        • To view the feed, tap on the camera.

       

      Smart Garage Camera

      These steps apply to Smart Garage Camera and first-generation SecureView Cameras (Models: B6765, B4545, 85503).

      1. Open the myQ app.
      2. On the home screen, tap on your device. 
        1. The device should show as offline. 
        2. Tap Reconnect your device or tap to troubleshoot.
        3. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings at the bottom of the screen.
      3. Unplug the camera from its power source and then plug it back in.
      4. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your camera by clicking next on the app. 
      5. Locate the reset pin on the side of the camera head.

        1. When the LED is in a solid white state or changed from white to blue or blue/green, immediately press and hold the reset pin.
          • Note: Pressing and holding the reset button immediately after reconnecting power is crucial to start the reset process. 
        2. Hold the reset pin for 8-10 seconds until you hear a click, and the LED flashes off and back on again.
          • After performing the reset, the device will reboot.
          • Note: If you do not hear a click or the LED status does not change while holding the reset pin, repeat steps 1-5.
        3. Follow the in-app setup process for a myQ Smart Garage Camera.
        4. Upon reconnecting the camera, anticipate a prompt for a new firmware update and update the firmware if needed.
          • The camera will prompt to name the device if adding to a different account. Cameras added to their previous account will come back online with the same name. 
          • You may encounter the errors below. Back out of the setup flow and confirm the camera is back online.

        Video Keypad
        1. Open the myQ app.
        2. On the home screen, tap on your device. 
          • the device should show as offline. 
          • Tap Reconnect your device or tap to troubleshoot.
          • Tap Get Started.
        3. Confirm the battery is charged and tap Next.
        4. Restart your Video Keypad:
          • Remove the battery and wait 8 seconds. Then reinsert the battery.
          • Tap Next.
        5. The screen will display Check Your W-Fi Settings
          • Tap on Here’s How to continue to update your Wi-Fi Settings.
        6. Press and hold the gray button on the back of your device for 8 seconds. The LED on the device will flash blue. Tap Next.
          • Note: If Bluetooth is not enabled, enable if prompted.
        7. Tap Pair on the Bluetooth pairing request.
        8. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
        9. Enter your network password and tap Next. Your Video Keypad will now connect to the internet.
        10. Tap Finish on the success screen.
        Video Doorbell
        1. Open the myQ app.
        2. On the Home screen, tap on your device. 
          • The device should show as offline. 
          • Tap Reconnect your device or tap to troubleshoot.
          • Tap Get Started.
        3. Press and hold the Reset button on the back of your device until the LED turns solid blue then release. The LED will then change to blinking blue
          • Note: If Bluetooth is not enabled, enable if prompted.
        4. Select the device you are connecting
          • If you don’t see your device, tap on I don’t see my device listed to refresh the list.
        5. Tap Pair on the Bluetooth pairing request.
        6. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
        7. Enter your network password and tap Next. Your Video Doorbell will now connect to the internet.
        8. A success screen will display, and you will be returned to the myQ Home screen
        Outdoor Battery Camera
        1. Open the myQ app.
        2. On the Home screen, tap on your device. 
          • The device should show as offline. 
          • Tap Reconnect your device or tap to troubleshoot.
          • Tap Get Started.
        3. Press and hold the Reset button on the back of your device until the LED turns solid blue then release. The LED will then change to blinking blue.
        4. Tap Continue.
          • Note: If Bluetooth is not enabled, enable if prompted.
        5. Select the device you are connecting
          • If you don’t see your device, tap on I don’t see my device listed to refresh the list.
        6. Tap Pair on the Bluetooth pairing request.
        7. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
        8. Enter your network password and tap Next. Your Battery Camera will now connect to the internet.
        9. A success screen will display, and you will be returned to the myQ Home screen
            Wireless Chime
            1. Open the myQ app.
            2. Access settings: 
              • If your app has a Gear Icon in the top right corner, tap it. 
              • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap them.
            3. The device should show as offline. 
              • Tap Get Started.
            4. Press and hold the Reset button on the side of your device until the LED turns solid blue then release. The LED will then change to blinking blue
            5. Tap Continue
              • Note: If Bluetooth is not enabled, enable if prompted.
            6. Select the device you are connecting
              • If you don’t see your device, tap on I don’t see my device listed to refresh the list.
            7. Tap Pair on the Bluetooth pairing request.
            8. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
            9. Enter your network password and tap Next. Your Battery Camera will now connect to the internet.
            10. A success screen will display, and you will be returned to the Device Management screen
