myQ Device Offline After Wi‑Fi or Router Change | How to Reconnect

This guide helps you reconnect an existing myQ device to Wi-Fi after changing your router, Wi-Fi name, password, or internet provider

Only use this article if the device already appears in your myQ account and was previously connected.


Before You Start

Use This Article If:

  • Your myQ device was previously connected and working
  • You changed your Wi-Fi network name or password
  • You replaced your router or internet provider
  • Your device appears offline in the myQ app

Do Not Use This Article If:

  • You are setting up a device for the first time
  • You moved into a home with an existing myQ device
  • You see Error 310 or “device is on another account”

    What You'll Need

    • Your Wi-Fi network name and password
    • Bluetooth enabled on your mobile device
    • A ladder for some garage door opener models
    • A paperclip or pin for some camera models

    💡 Each myQ device must be reconnected separately.


    Start in the myQ App

      Most devices reconnect directly through the myQ app.

       

      1. Open the myQ app.
      2. Tap the offline device on the Home screen.
      3. Tap Reconnect your device or tap to troubleshoot.
      4. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings.
      5. Follow the in-app instructions.

      You can also start reconnection from:
      Settings (gear icon) →Devices → Select Device → Update Wi-Fi Settings

      Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener

      Reconnect Your Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener

      Most garage door openers reconnect to Wi-Fi using the myQ app. The app will guide you through the correct steps for your model.

      Chamberlain Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener

       
      1. Open the myQ app.
      2. Tap the offline garage door opener on the Home screen.

      3. Tap Update your Wi-Fi settings.
      4. Follow the instructions shown in the app.

      If the App Asks You to Clear Wi-Fi Settings

      Some older garage door openers must clear saved Wi-Fi settings before reconnecting.

      1. Use a ladder to access the opener motor.
      2. Locate the black adjustment button between the Up and Down arrows.

      3. Press and hold the adjustment button until the LED turns off.
      4. Return to the myQ app and tap Next.
      5. Continue following the in-app instructions.

      If the App Asks You to Use the Learn Button

      Some garage door opener models enter Wi-Fi setup mode using the Learn button.

      1. Press and release the Learn button on the opener motor three times.

      2. Return to the myQ app.
      3. Continue following the in-app instructions.

      Finish Reconnection in the myQ App

      1. Tap Next in the app.
      2. If you hear a beep, tap Yes.
      3. If prompted:
        • Apple: Tap Join to connect to the myQ-NNN network.
        • Android: Select your home Wi-Fi network.
      4. Enter your Wi-Fi password.
      5. Tap Next.
      6. Tap Finish on the success screen.

      ✅ What success looks like: The opener appears online in the myQ app and responds to commands

      If It Does Not Work

        Smart Garage Control, myQ Smart Garage Hub or myQ Garage

         

        myQ Smart Garage HubSmart Garage Control

        1. Open the myQ app.
        2. Go to Settings (gear icon) > Devices.
        3. Under HUBS, select the hub,

        4. Tap Change Wi-Fi Settings on the bottom of the screen.
        5. Follow the instructions in the myQ app to reconnect the hub to Wi-Fi.

        Wi-Fi Reset

        1. Press and hold the Geart button on the hub.
        2. Release when the LED flashes blue.

        Finish Reconnection in the myQ App

        1. Tap Next in the app
        2. If prompted, tap Pair or Connect
        3. Choose your home Wi-Fi network
        4. Enter your Wi-Fi password
        5. Tap Next
        6. Tap Finish on the success screen
        What success looks like:
        The hub reconnects and appears online.
         

        If It Does Not Work

        • Confirm the hub still appears in Devices
        • Restart your phone and router
        • Retry the reconnect steps once

        If the issue continues, note the LED color or pattern and continue to: Smart Garage Hub | Device Shows Offline or Unable to Connect to Wi-Fi.

         

        Integrated Camera

        Reconnect the Device

        1. Open the myQ app.
        2. Go to Settings > Devices.
        3. Under Cameras, select the camera.
        4. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings.

        Enter Wi-Fi Setup Mode

        1. Press and hold the side button for 20 seconds. 
          •  
        2. Wait for LED to flash blue
        3. Tap Next in the app

        Complete Wi-Fi Connection

        Follow the instructions in the myQ app to reconnect the camera to Wi-Fi.

        1. Enable Bluetooth if prompted
        2. Select camera from discovered devices
        3. Select Wi-Fi network
        4. Enter password
        5. Complete setup

         ✅ What success looks like:
        Camera appears online and live feed loads in the app.

        If It Does Not Work

          Smart Garage Camera

          Reconnect the Device

          1. Open the myQ app.
          2. Tap the offline camera on the Home screen.

          1. Go to Settings > Devices.
          2. Under Cameras, select the camera.
          3. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings.

          Enter Wi-Fi Setup Mode

          1. Unplug the camera from power.
          2. Plug the camera back in.
          3. Use a reset pin to press and hold the reset button until the LED flashes.
          4. Release the button and wait for the camera to reboot.

            Complete Wi-Fi Connection

            Follow the instructions in the myQ app to reconnect the camera to Wi-Fi.

            • Select camera from discovered devices
            • Select Wi-Fi network
            • Enter password
            • Complete setup

             ✅ What success looks like:

            • Camera appears online
            • Live feed loads in the app

               If It Does Not Work

               

              Video Keypad

                Reconnect the Device

                1. Open the myQ app.
                2. Tap the offline Video Keypad.
                3. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings.

                Enter Wi-Fi Setup Mode

                1. Remove and reinsert the battery.
                2. Press and hold the gray button until the LED flashes blue.

                Complete Wi-Fi Connection

                Follow the instructions in the myQ app to reconnect the keypad to Wi-Fi.

                • Enable Bluetooth if prompted
                • Select Wi-Fi network
                • Enter password

                What success looks like: Keypad appears online

                If It Does Not Work

                • Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
                • Retry setup once.
                • Move closer to the keypad during setup.

                  Video Doorbell

                    Reconnect the Device

                    1. Open the myQ app.
                    2. Tap the offline Video Doorbell.
                    3. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings.

                    Enter Wi-Fi Setup Mode

                    1. Press and hold the reset button on the back of the device.
                    2. Release when the LED flashes blue.

                    Complete Wi-Fi Connection

                    Follow the instructions in the myQ app to reconnect the doorbell to Wi-Fi.

                    •  Enable Bluetooth if prompted
                    • Select Wi-Fi network
                    • Enter password

                    ✅ What success looks like: Doorbell appears online

                    If It Does Not Work

                      
                    Outdoor Battery Camera

                      Reconnect the Device

                      1. Open the myQ app.
                      2. Tap the offline camera.
                      3. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings.

                      Enter Wi-Fi Setup Mode

                      1. Press and hold the reset button until the LED flashes blue.
                      2. Release the button and wait for the camera to reboot.

                      Complete Wi-Fi Connection

                      Follow the instructions in the myQ app to reconnect the camera to Wi-Fi.

                      • Enable Bluetooth if prompted
                      • Select Wi-Fi network
                      • Enter password

                      What success looks like: Camera appears online and live feed loads

                      If It Does Not Work

                      • Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
                      • Restart your phone and router.
                      • Retry setup once.

                          Wireless Chime

                            Reconnect the Device

                            1. Open the myQ app.
                            2. Tap the offline chime.
                            3. Tap Update Wi-Fi Settings.

                            Enter Wi-Fi Setup Mode

                            1. Press and hold the reset button until the LED flashes blue.

                            Complete Wi-Fi Connection

                            Follow the instructions in the myQ app to reconnect the chime to Wi-Fi.

                            ✅ What success looks like:
                            The chime appears online.

                            If It Does Not Work

                            • Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
                            • Retry setup once.

                            If Reconnection Does Not Work

                            If reconnection fails:

                            • Confirm the device still appears on the Home screen and under Devices in the myQ app
                            • Restart your phone and router
                            • Retry the reconnect steps once
                            • Confirm your device is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
                            • Move closer to the device during setup
