myQ App | Change or Reset Account Password

Change your myQ password, reset it if you forgot it, or learn what to do if you're locked out. Find steps for signing in with Google, Apple, or Amazon (Single Sign-On). Update your password in the myQ app or on the myQ website.


Before You Begin:


Password Requirements

Passwords must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 8 characters in length
  • Contain at least 3 of the following 4
    • Uppercase letter
    • Lowercase letter
    • Number
    • Symbol

If You Use Single Sign-On (Apple, Google, Amazon)

  • You won’t have a myQ-specific password.
  • You won’t see Change Password in the app.
  • To update your password, go to your Apple, Google, or Amazon account settings.

Note: Single sign-on (SSO) enables users to log in to multiple applications and websites with one set of credentials. 
The password you use to log into myQ with SSO is the same password you use for that provider (Apple, Google, or Amazon). If you change it with your provider, it will automatically update for myQ.

Change Your Password in the myQ App (If Signed In) 

Follow these instructions if you are signed in to the myQ app.

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Access settings:
    • If your app shows Menu in the bottom right corner, tap Menu.
    • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
  3. Tap on Manage Account.
  4. Tap Change Password.

  1. Enter your current password.
  2. Enter and confirm your new password.
  3. Tap on the arrow to save and complete. 

Note: If you don’t see the “Change Password” option, you're likely signed in with Single Sign-On (Apple, Google, or Amazon). Your password is managed by your SSO provider. 


Reset Your Password (Forgot or Locked Out)

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. On the login screen, tap Login.

  1. Tap Forgot.

  1. Enter the email address that was used to create the myQ account, then tap the arrow.
  2. Enter the six-digit code sent to your email:
    • Check your spam or junk folder if you don’t see it.
    • It may take 30 minutes to 24 hours to arrive, depending on your email provider, VPN, or network settings.  Please wait before requesting another code.

  1. Create a new password and enter it twice to confirm.

  1. You are now logged into the app.
    • After changing the password, you’ll need to update it on any other device using your myQ account. 

If You Don’t Receive the Reset Email

Most reset emails arrive within a few minutes, but depending on your email provider, it may take several hours. This is especially common with providers like Yahoo, AOL, or certain work email domains that filter automated messages.While waiting:

  • Check your Spam or Junk folder.
  • Search your inbox for “myQ” or notification@myq.com.
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address.
  • Turn off VPNs, firewalls, or ad blockers that may block emails.
  • Avoid requesting multiple codes too quickly, which can cause further delays.

If you still don’t see the email after 24 hours, request another code.
