How to Change the Email Address for a myQ Account

This guide explains how to update the email address associated with your myQ account using the myQ app.

 

Before You Begin:

  • You must have access to the original email to verify the change.

  • The email verification link must be clicked from a mobile device, not a computer.

  • If you're using Single Sign-On (SSO), ensure you use the same email across linked services to access all your devices.

To change the email address on your myQ account you must have access to the original email used to set up the myQ account to verify the change being made. Ensure you correctly type in your email address when making these changes. Be sure to use your mobile device when going through the following steps, including checking your email. The email you receive contains a link that requires access to the myQ app. 

Note: If you are using a Single Sign-On (SSO), you can switch between partner services. As long as you use the same email address across these services to link your accounts and access all of your devices. 

If You Have Access to the Old Email Address

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Access Account Menu:
    • If your app shows Menu in the bottom right corner, tap Menu.
    • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
  3. Tap Manage Account.
  4. Tap Change Email.
  5. Enter the new email address you would like to use, twice.
  6. Tap Save (Android) or Submit (Apple).
  7. Tap Done on the Email Sent screen in your app.
  8. Check your old email for the verification email.
    • An email will be sent to the original email on your account.
  9. Click the link in the email using your mobile device to confirm your change. 
    1. Note: The change will not work if you click the link from a computer. 
  10.  You're done. You will be logged in with the new email address and can see the change in Manage Account.

 


If You Do Not Have Access to Your Old Email Address

If you do not have access to the old email, you will not be able to change the email using the myQ app.

In order to change the email address associated with your myQ account follow the steps below to delete your devices and add them to a new myQ account.

  1. Delete your hub and devices from your myQ account.
    • For help, see:
  1. Create a new account using the new email address.
  2. Once the new account has been created, re-add the myQ devices to the new account by following the steps in the myQ app.
