How to Open the Garage Door During a myQ App Outage

In the event the myQ app servers are down or your app displays an error message preventing you from using the myQ app to operate your garage door, there are several ways for you to access your garage without having to use the myQ app. If your myQ app is displaying offline, you may be experiencing a connectivity issue caused by an outage of your internet service provider or your myQ device not connected to Wi-Fi. Using a Keypad

A keypad can be located outside of the garage door. Usually mounted on a side panel of the garage.

  1. Enter your 4-digit PIN
  2. Press and release the Enter button
  3. The lights on the keypad will flash
  4. The garage door will open or close

Using a Remote Control

A remote control that is already programmed to your garage door opener requires the steps below.

  1. You should be within 20 feet of your garage door
  2. Press and release the programmed button commonly used to open your garage door
  3. The door will operate

Using the Wall Control/Control Panel

  • The wall control or control panel button is typically installed in the garage, on the wall connected to the garage door opener directly by a wire.
  • To operate the garage door with the wall control, press the main large button on the wall control.

Using Your Car's HomeLink System (if applicable)

  • For most HomeLink programming, you will need a functioning remote control that has already been programmed to your garage door opener.
