GDO - Wiring diagram for a DC 3500 unit

The 3500 DC units that have the external battery backup consists of multiple wire harnesses that connect to multiple components in the operator, below is a description of which wires connect to which components.

See an image of the wiring diagram.

The high voltage wire harness has 11 wires: 2 black, 1 brown, 1 purple, 1 green, 1 gray, 1 orange, 1 red, 1 blue, 2 yellow, and 1 white.

  • The first black wire, orange red and first yellow wires connect into a second wire harness clip that connects to the travel module.
  • The brown, blue, green, black, purple, second yellow, white, and gray wires connect into a second wire harness clip that connects to the Power Supply board plug labeled P2.

The motor has one big white wire that has one red and one black wire coming out of it; these two wires connect to the Power Supply board plug labeled P3 closer to #1.

The transformer has 2 gray wires that plug into the filter board plug labeled P3 closer to the side with #4.

The Power Supply board has a wire harness clip with 4 wires, 2 blue, 1 brown, and 1 black wire, that connect to the plug that is labeled P1.

  • The first blue wire connects to the first light socket and is piggy backed with a white wire that connects to the second light socket.
  • The black wire connects to first light socket and is piggy backed with an orange wire that connects to the second light socket.
  • The second blue wire connects to the top prong of the terminal block on the same side where the white wire from the power cord is plugged into.
  • The brown wire connects to top prong of the terminal block on the same side where the black wire from the power cord is plugged into.
  • The two blue wires from the transformer plug into the two bottom prongs on the terminal block

The power cord has 3 wires that are not connected to either the high or the low voltage wire harness: 1 black, 1 white and 1 green. Below is a description of where these wires go connected.

  • The black wire connects to the top screw on the terminal block on the side where the one brown wire and blue wire are at.
  • The white wire connects to the top screw on the terminal block on the side where the two blue wires are at.
  • The green wire is the ground and is screwed into the metal frame to the side of the terminal block.
