Unable to Connect the Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener to Wi-Fi Network and LED is Blinking Green

When attempting to connect a myQ Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener to your home network, the LED light between the arrows will go through a sequence of blinks before the LED turns solid green to confirm the connection. Each step of the sequence indicates what the myQ Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener is attempting to do and how you approach troubleshooting depends on the LED behavior and color.

A blinking green LED indicates that your myQ Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener has linked to your router, but it was unable to connect to the myQ internet server.

  1. Disconnect then reconnect the power to your myQ Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener
    • If you have a backup battery, disconnect the AC power cord from the outlet first. Once the AC power cord is disconnected from the outlet, disconnect the backup battery.
    • To power the unit back on, reconnect the backup battery first if applicable. Once the backup battery is reconnected, plug the AC power cord back into the outlet.
    • The LED status should go to solid green to confirm the device is online and connected to the myQ server.
    • If the LED stays blinking green, continue to step 3.
  2. Disconnect then reconnect the power to your router.
Warning: All devices connected to your Wi-Fi network will disconnect and it can take several minutes for everything to reconnect and come back online when a modem or router is power cycled.
    • Once the internet is established, disconnect and reconnect the power to your myQ Garage Door Opener once more as instructed in step 1.
    • The LED status should go to solid green to confirm the device is online.
    • If the LED status does not go to solid green, continue to step 4.
  3. Check to see if a firewall device is installed. For example, a SonicWALL or Zywall.
    • If yes, verify that TCP port 8883 is open.
    • Contact your firewall device’s manufacturer if needed.
    • If the LED is still blinking green, continue to step 4.
  4. Check that your router settings are not preventing connection.

If you were unable to connect to your Wi-Fi network, please double-check the color of the LED light found on the Wi-Fi garage door opener.
