The garage door openers and part numbers should have the MC designation. Garage door openers and replacement logic boards for Security+ 2.0 manufactured after 2022 will have the step saver sticker next to the adjustment buttons.
While programming the travel, the UP and DOWN buttons can be used to move the door as needed. During the Automatic Force Setup, the door will automatically open and close. During the travel setup steps the garage door opener will disconnect the safety sensors and the LEDs will turn off.
Note: If the garage door opener lights flash 5 times, then the programming has timed out and the Travel Limits have not been set. Please restart the Program and Travel process.
Once both the up and the down positions have been manually set, the Safety Reversing Sensors will reconnect and become operational. The opener will enter a force-sensing operation by automatically moving the door open and close. The garage door opener will sound an audible and visual alert before automatically opening and closing the door. The garage door opener will beep three times, confirming that the Automatic Force Setup was completed successfully. Adjustment is complete.
Safety Note: After you do ANY adjustments, the safety reversal system MUST be tested. With the door fully open, place a one-inch board (or a 2x4 laid flat) on the floor, centered under the garage door. Operate the door in the down direction. The door must reverse when striking the obstruction. For additional help, see How to Test the Safety Reversal System .
Note: If the above process is not successfully completed any attempt to activate the opener from a remote/keyless entry or wall control will not work and the opener will flash the work lights two (2) times. This is because there are no open and closed limits learned in the memory for the opener to travel to. If during the above process the opener gives a long beep, then this means that the limit learn process has failed and needs to be repeated.
- A timeout will cause lights on the opener to also flash 5 times with the long beep that is heard
A travel pass point was not seen during the travel limit setting- This could happen when there is a very short travel distance, like with single-piece doors that open outward
There is an issue with safety sensors- No longer aligned
- Bad connection at terminals
- Broken/compromised wire
A successful limit learn will cause the operator to give 3 short beeps.
If you are getting 5 flashes use the article Reasons Why a Security+ 2.0 Garage Door Opener Lights Flash 5 Times , as the unit is a pre-2022 garage door opener.
