How to get inside the garage if my garage door is not responding to my remotes and/or keypad

If the garage door opener is not responding to your remote controls and/or keypad (and you don't have the outside quick release model1702LM, 7702C or 7702CB installed), there is unfortunately no way to activate the opener. If you have no other access into the garage other than through the garage door, you will need to gain access some other way. Our LiftMaster dealers/installers may have experience in this area. If you would like to contact a local dealer, please visit our web site: http://www.liftmaster.com/locate-a-dealer for a referral.

To prevent this type of situation from occurring in the future, we strongly recommend that you install our Outside Trolley Release. This will allow you to manually release the door from the opener with a key from the outside. In many areas of the country, this type of product is required to be installed for structures with no secondary access door. The Outside Trolley Key Release (part 1702LM/7702CB) can be ordered directly through us or through an authorized dealer, provided they have them in stock.
