Why a Firmware Update May Be Needed
Firmware updates may be released to:
- Fix camera issues such as freezing, lag, or audio problems.
- Improve video clarity or streaming stability.
- Update camera features.
- Resolve software bugs that impact performance or reliability.
- Enhance security.
Your device will only show an option to update when a new version is available.
Check for a Firmware Update
From the Home Screen
- Open the myQ app.
- On the home screen, locate your camera tile.
- Tap the three dots in the bottom-right corner of the camera tile.
- Scroll to the bottom to view the current firmware version.
- If an Update option appears, tap Update to begin.
- Make sure your mobile device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
- Keep the app open during the update to avoid interruptions.
💡If you do not see an update option, the firmware is already up to date.
From Device Management
- Open the myQ app.
- Tap Menu.
- Select Device Management.
- Choose your camera.
- Scroll to the bottom to view the current firmware version.
- If an Update option appears, tap Update to begin.
