myQ Camera | How to Update Firmware in the myQ App

This explains how to check for and update camera firmware for your myQ Smart Garage Camera or an integrated camera in a myQ‑enabled garage door opener. Updating your firmware can help fix camera issues and improve performance.

Why a Firmware Update May Be Needed

Firmware updates may be released to:
  • Fix camera issues such as freezing, lag, or audio problems.
  • Improve video clarity or streaming stability.
  • Update camera features.
  • Resolve software bugs that impact performance or reliability.
  • Enhance security.
Your device will only show an option to update when a new version is available.

Check for a Firmware Update

From the Home Screen

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. On the home screen, locate your camera tile.
  3. Tap the three dots in the bottom-right corner of the camera tile.
  4. Scroll to the bottom to view the current firmware version.

  5. If an Update option appears, tap Update to begin.
    • Make sure your mobile device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
    • Keep the app open during the update to avoid interruptions.

💡If you do not see an update option, the firmware is already up to date.


From Device Management

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Select Device Management.
  4. Choose your camera.
  5. Scroll to the bottom to view the current firmware version.
  6. If an Update option appears, tap Update to begin.
