How to Set Up a myQ Video Keypad in the myQ App

Steps to Set Up Your myQ Video Keypad

If Your Garage Door is Not Connected to myQ
  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Access Device Settings:
    • If your app has a Gear Icon in the top right corner, tap the Gear Icon. 
    • If your app shows a + (plus) icon, tap the + (plus) icon.
  3. Tap Add a new device.
  4. Tap Video Solutions.
  5. Tap Video Keypad.
  6. Confirm your battery is fully charged:
    • If yes, tap I'm Ready.
    • If your battery is not fully charged, tap No, Battery Isn’t Charged and follow the apps instructions to remove and charge the battery using the included Micro USB cable until you see a green indicator light on the battery.
  7. Tap Next on the screen that says, “You don’t currently have a garage door opener connected to your account.”
  8. Tap Continue without Connecting Opener at the bottom of the screen.
  9. Review the information on the “What You Need” screen and tap Next.
  10. Remove the battery wrapping as instructed, then tap Next.
  11. Wait for the Keypad to begin flashing blue, then tap Next.
  12. On the "Discovered" screen, tap your Video Keypad.
  13. Select your 2.4GHz or 5GHz home Wi-Fi network.
  14. Enter your Wi-Fi network password, then tap Next.
  15. Wait for the "Added to Wi-Fi" screen, then tap Next once you see a Solid Green LED on your Video Keypad.
  16. Name your Video Keypad and then tap Next.
  17. Enter a 4–8-digit PIN that can be used to open your door, then tap Next.
    • When you set a PIN for the first Video Keypad, the same PIN must be used for all subsequent Video Keypads added to the myQ account.
  18. On the "Program to Opener" screen, tap Next.
  19. Review the Safety Warning and tap Next.
  20. Set up your ladder and tap Next.
  21. Locate your learn button, using the example provided in the app, and then tap Next.
  22. Select the color of your learn button and then tap Next.
  23. Press and release your learn button quickly, then tap Next.
  24. Enter the 4-8 digit PIN you created and then tap the Home button on the bottom/right of your Video Keypad.
  25. Tap Next in the myQ app. 
    • The Video Keypad is now pairing to your garage door opener.
    • You'll hear a click from your garage door opener once pairing is complete. 
  26. Pairing your myQ Video Keypad is now complete.
    • To test your Video Keypad, enter the PIN followed by the Home button.

  

     

    If Your Garage Door Opener is Connected to myQ
    1. Open the myQ app.
    2. Access Device Settings:
      • If your app has a Gear Icon in the top right corner, tap the Gear Icon. 
      • If your app shows a + (plus) icon, tap the + (plus) icon.
    3. Tap Add a new device.
    4. Tap Video Solutions.
    5. Tap Video Keypad.
    6. Review the “Is the Battery Fully Charged” screen.
      • If your battery is fully charged, tap Yes, I’m Ready.
      • If your battery is not fully charged, tap No, Battery Isn’t Charged.
      • The app will instruct you to remove and charge the battery, using the included Micro USB cable, until you see a green indicator light on the battery.
    7. Select the opener you would like to control with your Video Keypad and tap Next.
    8. Review information on the “What You Need” screen and then tap Next.
    9. Remove the battery wrapping as instructed, then tap Next.
    10. Wait for the Keypad to begin flashing blue, then tap Next.
    11. On the "Discovered" screen, tap your Video Keypad.
    12. Select your 2.4GHz or 5GHz home Wi-Fi network.
    13. Enter your Wi-Fi network password, then tap Next.
    14. On the "Added to Wi-Fi" screen, tap Next once you see a Solid Green LED on your Video Keypad.
    15. Name your Video Keypad and then tap Next.
    16. Enter a 4-8 digit PIN that can be used to open your door, then tap Next.
    17. On the "Program to Opener" screen, enter the 4-8 digit PIN you created and then tap the Home button on the bottom/right of your Video Keypad.
      • When you set a pin for the first Video Keypad, the same PIN must be used for all subsequent Video Keypads added to the myQ account.
    18. Tap Next in the myQ app.
      • The Video Keypad is now paired to your garage door opener.
      • A click from your garage door opener will be heard.
    19. Pairing your myQ Video Keypad is now complete.
      • To test your Video Keypad, enter the PIN followed by the Home button.
