Receiving False Notifications from the myQ App

If you're receiving false or delayed notifications from the myQ app, follow these steps to identify the cause and fix the issue.


Step 1: Check the Notification History

Start by reviewing your myQ app’s notification history to determine if the issue is caused by a delay or if it’s truly a false alert.

Tap on History on the bottom of the home screen. 

 


Fixing Delayed Notifications

For Cameras:

Check the Camera Time:

  1. Open the Live Feed in the myQ app.
  2. Look at the time and date in the upper-left corner.
  3. If incorrect, unplug and plug the camera back in.

Verify the App Time Zone:

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Access Account Menu:
    • If your app shows Menu in the bottom right corner, tap Menu.
    • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
  3. Tap Manage Account.
  4. Tap Edit Profile.
  5. Check and change the time zone if needed.

Recreate the Notification:

  1. Delete the existing notification.
  2. Recreate a new notification of the same type. See: How to Create a Notification for a myQ Account

Uninstall and Reinstall the App:

  1. Remove the myQ app from your device.
  2. Reinstall it from the app store.

 


Fixing False Notifications from myQ App

  1. Delete the notification from the app.
  2. Recreate the same notification. 
  3. Uninstall the myQ App from your device.
  4. Reinstall the App on your device.

 


Fixing False Garage Door Open/Close Notifications

If you’re using a myQ Garage, Smart Garage Hub, or Smart Garage Control, the issue could be with the door sensor battery.

Replace the Battery:
