Hyundai + myQ Connected Garage | Geofence Settings

Learn how to configure location-based automation for your garage door using Hyundai myQ Connected Garage. Geofence settings allow your garage door to open or close automatically based on your vehicle’s proximity to home.

Before You Begin

• Your Hyundai vehicle must be linked to myQ Connected Garage.
• An active Hyundai Bluelink and myQ Connected Garage subscription is required.
• Location services must be enabled on your mobile device.

Setting Auto-Open and Auto-Close Distances

Follow these steps to configure geofence automation:

1. Park your Hyundai vehicle in your driveway, just outside of your garage
2. Open the Hyundai Bluelink app on your mobile device.
3. Tap Connected Garage.
4. Select the garage you want to configure and the setting will appear.
5. Tap Set under location.
   • A prompt will advise users to park the vehicle in front of the garage
6. Tap OK and a confirmation message will indicate the current location was set as the garage location
7. Enable the toggle for Auto-Open and/or Auto-Close.
8. Adjust the Auto-Open distance to adjust the distance when the garage activates.

Geofence Customization Options

• Auto-Open Distance
  • Adjustable in 25-foot increments
  • Range: 25 feet to 300 feet
• Auto-Close Distance
  • Adjustable range: 30 feet to 50 feet
• Automation Behavior 
  You can choose how the garage door performs actions:

  • Automatic: Garage door opens or closes without user interaction
  • Notification- Based: A pop-up alert appears, and you must tap the notification to complete the action

Important Notes

• Notifications require location permissions to be enabled on your mobile device.
• To add, delete, or manage garage door openers, log in directly to the myQ app on your mobile device.
