How to Create and Manage myQ Account Notifications

You can set up notifications in the myQ app to know when there is activity on a connected myQ device. Notifications can be sent to your phone or email. 

 

How to Create a Notification for a myQ Account

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Access settings:
    • If your app has a Gear Icon in the top right corner, tap the Gear Icon.
    • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
  3. Tap Notifications or Notification and Alerts. Existing alerts for this device will be displayed. 
  4. Select the device you want to set a notification for.
  5. Tap on the plus (+) sign or Add notification.
  6. Name the notification.
  7. Choose the activity you'd like to be notified for (garage door open, light on, locked, motion)
  8. Choose when you would like to be notified.
    • Immediately: Get notified as soon as the activity occurs. 
    • Remind Me: You can set a delay for notification. For example: Receive a notification if the door remains open for 10 minutes.
    • Custom Time and Day: Set specific timeframes or notifications will be received for all times and days (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
    • Past Midnight Notifications: When scheduling notifications that run past midnight, you'll need to create two separate notifications. For example: If you want the notification to run from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, set up one notification for 10:00 PM to 11:59 PM and then create another notification for 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM. This way, you'll cover the entire time period. 
  9. Choose how you'd like to be notified.
    • Push notification
    • Email
  10. Tap Save.

Manage Notifications 

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Access settings:
    • If your app has a Gear Icon in the top right corner, tap the Gear Icon.
    • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
  3. Tap Notifications or Notification and Alerts.
  4. Enable/Disable: Use the Toggle switch Under Access Notifications, 
  5. Edit: Tap the notification you want to modify.


Delete Notifications 

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Access settings:
    • If your app has a Gear Icon in the top right corner, tap the Gear Icon.
    • If your app shows your Initials in the top left corner, tap your Initials
  3. Tap Notifications or Notification and Alerts.
  4. Find the notification under Access Notifications.
    • Apple: Swipe left on the notification to reveal the Delete option.
    • Android - Press and hold on the notification and you will get the delete option.
  5. Tap on Delete to confirm.

Troubleshooting

  • Not Receiving Notifications?
    • You should receive a push or email notification within 90 seconds. If you have not received a notification within 90 seconds, check your device and ensure you can receive push notifications.
    • If you declined to receive notifications when you installed the app, you will need to enable them through your phone's notification settings.
