My Yale | LiftMaster Smart Lock Shows the Wrong Position in the myQ App

By default, the lock will automatically determine whether it will function as a right or left-handed lock (The "hand" or "handing" of the lock is determined by the side of the entry door that the hinges are on when standing outside the door). If the lock is showing the incorrect handing position in the myQ app, follow the steps below to complete the "Handing the Lock" process.

Handing the Lock on the Yale | LiftMaster Smart Touchscreen Deadbolt

The steps below must be completed on the lock's touchscreen keypad.

  1. Touch the lock's screen with your palm or the back of your hand to activate.
  2. Enter the 4-8 digit master PIN.
  3. Tap the gear symbol.
  4. Press 3 for Advanced Lock Settings
  5. Tap the gear symbol
  6. Press 5 to set "Handing the Lock"
  7. Tap the gear symbol twice
    • Your lock will now automatically "hand" the lock and you will hear the message, "Handing lock completed" once it's finished.
  8. On your mobile device, log into the myQ App and confirm the lock icon is showing the correct hand state
