How to Change a MyQ account to an Alarm.com Account

Chamberlain partners with Alarm.com to let you control myQ-enabled devices using Alarm.com’s app and services. If you’d like to switch, you’ll need to remove your devices from your myQ account first. Once that’s done, you can connect them to your Alarm.com account.

Follow the steps below to make the switch.

 

Step 1: Remove Devices from Your myQ Account

Before switching, all devices must be removed from your myQ account.

To remove a device:

  1. Open the myQ app on your phone.

  2. Tap the Gear Icon on the top right of the home screen.

  3. Tap Devices.

  4. Choose the device you want to remove.

  5. Tap Delete Device and confirm.

You’ll need to remove each device individually.

Step 2: Remove the Hub or Gateway

After all devices are deleted, you can remove the myQ Hub or Gateway from your account.

To delete a Hub or Gateway:

  1. In the myQ app, tap the Gear icon (or your Initials, depending on your app version).

  2. Choose the Hub or Gateway.
  3. Tap Delete and confirm.


Step 3: Set Up an Alarm.com Account

Once your devices and hub are removed from the myQ account, you can create an Alarm.com account using the same email address.
