myQ Video Keypad | Battery Saver Feature

Battery Saver extends the battery life of your myQ Video Keypad by reducing motion-based recording and detection. When enabled, the keypad continues to record access events (PIN entry or call button presses), but motion sensing and smart detections are limited.

How to Enable Battery Saver

Requirements:

Steps:

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. From the Video Keypad Live View screen, tap the Gear icon in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Tap Battery.
    • The battery icon may appear red, yellow, or green, depending on current battery level.
  4. Toggle Battery Saver to On.
  5. Review the message explaining which features will be disabled, then confirm.

When Battery Saver is enabled, the battery icon will change to yellow.

💡Important:
Enabling Battery Saver turns off motion sensing for the Video Keypad. The device will still record:

  • PIN entry events
  • Call button presses

Smart Protection for Pets, Vehicles, and Packages will be disabled, and Smart Secure will be paused until Battery Saver is turned off.

Features Disabled When Battery Saver Is On

  • Motion sensing and motion recording
  • Smart Detection (unless triggered by an access event)
  • Vehicle Detection
  • Pet Detection
  • Package Detection
  • Person Detection

How to Disable Battery Saver

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. From the Video Keypad Live View screen, tap the Gear icon.
  3. Tap Battery.
  4. Toggle Battery Saver to Off.

The battery icon will return to red, yellow, or green, depending on the current battery level.
