This article shows you how to change the battery in your remote control. It includes step-by-step instructions by model, battery type, and tips to safely remove and replace the battery.

myQ Branded Remotes (current models or CH, L, & CMX)
Open the Remote
If there’s a screw on the back: Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen it until it spins freely. Do not force it. With teh remote button side up, pry open the remote.
Tip: If the housing won't separate, double-check that the screw is rotating freely.
If there’s no screw: Insert a flathead screwdriver into the small gap in the corner of the remote. With the button side facing up, gently twist to separate the top and bottom housing.
Replace the Battery
Push the old battery out toward the nearest edge of the remote.
Insert a new 3V CR2032 coin cell battery into the holder positive side up.
. Reassemble the Remote
Align the top and bottom housing until they snap together.
If your remote has a screw, tighten it just enough to secure the housing
Note: Don’t overtighten—this can crack the plastic.

Pry open the case with the visor clip or flathead screwdriver.
Remove the old battery.
Insert a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery with the positive side (+) facing up.
Snap the cover back into place.
74LM 4-Button Remote Controls
Pry open the case with the visor clip or flathead screwdriver.
Remove the old batteries.
Insert two 3V CR2032 coin cell batteries with the positive side (+) facing up.
Snap the cover back into place.
374UT Universal Mini Remote Controls
Remove the two screws on the back of the remote control case.
Open the case.
Remove the old battery.
Insert a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery with the positive side (+) facing up.
Snap the cover back into place
375LM Remote Controls
Slide the cover below the remote control buttons by pressing down firmly.
Remove the old battery.
Insert a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery with the positive side (+) facing up.
Snap the cover back into place

Pry open the case.
Remove the old battery.
Insert a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery with the positive side (+) facing up.

Locate a small notch on the long side of the remote control.
Pry open the case with a flat screwdriver.
Remove the old battery.
Insert a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery with the positive side (+) facing up.
Snap the cover back into place
891LM And 893LM Remote Controls
Pry open the case first in the middle, then at each side with the visor clip.
Remove the old battery.
Insert a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery with the positive side (+) facing up.
Snap the cover back into place
892LT And 894LT Remote Controls
Open the cover above the remote control buttons by pressing up firmly.
Replace the old battery with a AAA battery, matching polarity (+/-). Dispose of old battery properly.
Replace the cover.

Insert a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery with the positive side (+) facing up.
Snap the cover back into place
