How To Change the Timing of the Garage Door Opener Light

Below are steps to change the length of time your garage door opener lights stay on using your wall-mounted door control.

A door control with the LIGHT and LOCK button or a Smart Control Panel is required to adjust the timing of the lights. If you do not have a door control with the LIGHT and LOCK button or a Smart Control Panel and you want a new door control with additional functionality, see your manual to find the accessories available for your model.

Tip: The LIGHT button will not control the lights when the door is in motion.

Options to change your light timing include using:

• Multi-Function Door Control (A door control that has a LIGHT and LOCK button)
• Smart Door Control Panel

Change the Light Timing Using a Multi-Function Door Control that has a LIGHT and LOCK Button

Press and hold the LOCK button until the lights flash (about 10 seconds). The time interval is indicated by the number of times the garage door opener flashes:

• 1 flash is 1-1/2 minutes.
• 2 flashes are 2-1/2 minutes.
• 3 flashes are 3-1/2 minutes.
• 4 flashes are 4-1/2 minutes.

Repeat the steps to cycle through the time intervals.

Change the Light Timing Using A Smart Control Panel

1. Locate your navigation button below MENU to view the Features menu.
2. Use the navigation buttons to scroll to LIGHT SETTINGS.
3. Set the duration for garage door opener light to stay on after operation. Select a range of 1-1/2 to 4-1/2 minutes.
4. Turn the motion detection feature OFF/ON, and turn the entry light feature OFF/ON.
5. Press EXIT.
6. The garage door opener lights will flash or two clicks will be heard when the code has been program.
