myQ App | How to Set Up Multi Factor Authorization (Two‑Step Verification)

Protect your myQ account by enabling multifactor authentication (MFA), called Two-Step Verification in the app. It adds an extra layer of security by requiring a one-time code along with your password when signing in.

How to Set Up Two-Step Verification in the myQ App

Step 1: Open the Menu

  1. Open the myQ app
  2. Tap Menu in the bottom-right corner

Step 2: Go to Account Settings

  1. Tap Manage Account
  2. Tap Two-Step Verification

Two-Step Verification is the myQ app name for multifactor authentication (MFA).

Step 3: Confirm Your Phone Number

Verify the phone number used to receive sign‑in codes.
  1. Enter your phone number
  2. Enter the six-digit code sent by text message

Step 4: Confirm Your Email Address

Verify the email address used to receive sign‑in codes.
  1. Review the email address listed on your account
  2. Update it if needed under Manage Account before continuing
  3. Enter the six-digit code sent to your email
    • Codes expire after 10 minutes

Step 5: Turn On Two-Step Verification

Enable multifactor authorization for your account.
  • Toggle Two-Step Verification to On

Step 6: Set Primary and Secondary Methods

Choose how you want to receive verification codes.
  1. Select Make this method primary for your preferred option (phone or email)
  2. The other method becomes your backup option
  3. Tap Save

When Two-Step Verification Is Required

You may be prompted to enter a verification code when:

    • You log out and sign back in
    • Signing in on a new device
    • Completing certain account or security changes

Once signed in, the app usually keeps you logged in, so you will not be asked to verify every time you open it.

    When prompted:

    1. Enter your password
    2. Enter the verification code sent to your primary method
