What Is Needed to Make My Garage Door Opener myQ Compatible?

myQ technology gives you the ability to monitor, open and close your garage door or gate, and control your home lighting from anywhere using the myQ website or the myQ Control App.

The following garage door openers are compatible with myQ:


Yellow Learn Button with Wi-Fi Logo or Powered by myQ Logo  

If your Chamberlain or LiftMaster garage door opener has a yellow learn button and a Wi-Fi logo on the motorhead, or "Powered by myQ" logo, no additional parts are needed.

Red/Orange or Purple/Brown* Learn Button and Manufactured After 1998

If you have a Chamberlain, LiftMaster, or Craftsman opener with a red/orange or purple/brown* learn button that was manufactured after 1998, one of the following is needed to add the myQ technology to the opener:

  • myQ Control Panel AND Internet Gateway
  • myQ Control Panel AND myQ Home Bridge
  • myQ Smart Garage Hub.

  • Smart Garage Hub

Yellow*, Purple/Brown*, Red/Orange or Green Learn Button and Manufactured After 1993


If you have a Chamberlain, LiftMaster or Craftsman opener with a yellow*, purple/brown*, red/orange, or green learn button that was manufactured after 1993, the Smart Garage Control will give the opener the capability to use the myQ technology. You can also use the myQ Garage or the myQ Smart Garage Hub, which are older versions of the Smart Garage Control.
 

It also works with these different brands of garage door openers:

  • Genie (manufactured between 1996-Current)
  • Overhead Door (manufactured between 1996-Current)
  • Stanley
  • Wayne Dalton (372.5MHz)

Note: The myQ Garage may only be compatible with Genie/Overhead Door Garage Door Openers manufactured up until 2015. myQ Smart Garage Hub may only be compatible with Genie/Overhead Door Garage Door Openers manufactured up until 2019.
