myQ Users | Not Receiving Invitation

When a myQ Users invitation is sent, an email is automatically sent to the invited user with instructions on how to accept it. The invitation can only be accepted in the myQ app

If the invitation is not appearing in the app, follow these steps below.


If You Are the Invited User 

  1. Open the myQ App
    • Create a myQ account if you don’t have one. You will need your own username and password.
    • Tap Menu in the bottom right corner, then Invitations.
  2. Verify Your Email
    • Check that your myQ account is registered to the correct email address.
    • On the Account screen, tap Menu, confirm the email shown.
  3. If You Don’t See the Invitation
    • Invitations expire after 7 days.
    • Check your Junk or Spam folder.
    • Make sure the owner sent the invitation to the email linked to your myQ account.
    • The owner may have granted limited access or not selected devices to share.
    • Contact the owner to resend the invitation.
      💡Tip: If you accepted the invitation but don’t see the shared devices, you may need to switch accounts in the myQ app.
      • Tap the home name at the top of the myQ home screen.
      • Select the shared home name to view those devices.

Apple Users

  • If you used the “Hide My Email” option when registering, your myQ account uses a private relay email.
  • The invitation must be sent to that private relay address (it usually appears as something like abc123@privaterelay.appleid.com).
  • To confirm your account email, tap Menu and check the Account screen.

If You Are the Account Owner

  1. Open the myQ app.
  2. Tap the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Tap Users, then tap the name of the invited user.
  4. From this screen, you can:
    • Resend the invitation: Tap the link to resend.
    • View user settings: Check which devices and access schedule were shared. Confirm that the invited user has the correct access and devices.
    • Verify the email address: Tap Manage to view the user’s email.
      • If the email is correct, the invited user should log into their myQ account and check Invitations again.
      • If the email is not correct, tap Remove User to delete their access, then resend the invitation to the correct email address.

Common Problems

  • Invitations expire after 7 days.
  • You may have already accepted the invitation. Check Devices or switch accounts using the home name at the top of the screen.
  • The owner may have shared limited or scheduled access.
