How to Use the Call Feature with myQ Video Keypad

The myQ Video Keypad call feature allows users to “Call” the homeowner via the Video Keypad. The steps below outline how the feature works. 

 

How to Make a Call on the myQ Video Keypad

  1. Locate the Call Button on the myQ Video Keypad.
  2. Press the Call Button  on the bottom/left of the Video Keypad.
    • Any mobile device logged into the Video Keypad’s owner account will receive a notification that someone is calling.
    • The account owner will see a message prompting them to Tap to Answer the call.
    • The account owner will have 30 seconds to tap the notification which will launch the myQ app and answer the call.

 

Note: If the call is not answered within 30 seconds, a recording of the call is saved. This recording will be accessible in the History menu within the myQ app only for customers with a paid video subscription. 

 

myQ Video Keypad Call Capabilities

The below sections will outline what features are available for the account owner during the myQ Video Keypad call and what occurs if a call is missed. 

 

During the Call

  • If the call is answered within 30 seconds, the myQ app will open to the Live View screen. 
  • On the Live View screen, you can:
    • Talk to the person calling. 
    • Control the microphone and speaker.
    • Take snapshots.
    • Check battery life and Wi-Fi signal strength. 

 

Missed Call

  • If the call is not answered within 30 seconds, the missed call will be recorded as a motion event. 
  • You can view the Missed Call event later by:
    • Tap on Video in the History tab
      • Tap on Missed Call thumbnail 
      • Recorded event will launch
    • Tap on Access in the History Tab
      • Tap on Missed Call thumbnail
      • Recorded event will launch
