Troubleshoot an Internet Gateway Not Adding a myQ Device

If you are unable to add your myQ device to your myQ account, it could be one these things:

  • The learn button was not pressed properly
  • The garage door opener, myQ device or myQ Control Panel is out of range of the gateway 
  • The garage door opener's logic board may not be recognized during programming

The error messages that may appear are:

  • No devices were added
  • Please try again later
  • Adding your device timed out. Please try again later

 

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the Internet Gateway not adding a myQ device:

  1. Do a factory reset on the gateway.
        1. Remove the power connection from the gateway,
        2. Press and hold the reset button, and
        3. While holding the reset button press, connect the power to the gateway.
        4. Continue to hold the reset button for 5 - 20 sec while all LEDs remain off until the yellow LED light blinks.
        5. Release the reset button.

Note: When doing a hard reset, it will clear the serial number and devices from your account. You will need to How to Setup an Internet Gateway in the myQ App and all devices.
 

  1. Attempt to add the device to the account. Add a Device to a myQ Account
  2. If still unable to add a myQ Device, complete the following steps to clear your Garage Door Opener:
        1. Press the learn button until the LED light goes out, and release.
        2. Immediately press and hold the learn button again until the LED light goes out, and release.
Note: When doing this step it will clear the memory of your garage door opener. This requires you to Reprogram your remotes and Keyless Entry.
 
  1. Attempt to add the device to the account, again. Add a Device to a myQ Account
  • If still unable to add check the following:
    • If the opener flashes as the device have added and it still does not add, replace the logic board or myQ Control Panel.
    • If nothing happens and you get an error message after 3 minutes:
      • Verify the range of the gateway from the device. (300 to 600 ft)
      • Verify that the learn button on the garage door opener is yellow. If pressing the learn button on the door control, make sure that you are pressing it twice.
    • If multiple devices will not add, replace the gateway.
    • If the yellow LED on the gateway doesn't come on when you click add on the app, replace the gateway.
