How to Enable Location Services for Discovered Devices in the myQ App

To connect your myQ Wi-Fi device using the myQ app, you will need to enable location services on your mobile device. This is necessary for the Discovered Devices function within the app. If location services are turned off, your device won’t be able to scan for any broadcasting devices nearby.

Enable Location Services on Android Devices

  1. Tap Menu and tap Device Management

  2. Under Discovered Devices, tap Location Services must be enabled.

    • This directs to the Android location settings.

  3. Select Locating Method and choose High Accuracy.

  4. Return to the myQ app and find myQ-NNN under Discovered Devices to start in-app Wi-Fi setup.

Enable Location Services on an Apple Devices

  1. Tap Menu and tap Device Management
  1. Under Discovered Devices, tap "Home Data" link within the message stating, "Enable Home Data to discover devices".

    • You will automatically be directed to the Location settings for the myQ App.

  2. Toggle Home Data ON.

  3. After confirming Home Data is enabled, return to the myQ App.

  4. Swipe down on the screen to refresh the data.

  5. Under Discovered Devices, the myQ-NNN of any broadcasting myQ Devices in the area will be displayed.
