Residential Jackshaft Opener: 380LM Remote work light not responding

In a garage where multiple 380LM remote lights are installed, there is a slight chance communication between an operator and its light may be intermittent. In the event you are having intermittent operation from the light when opening and closing the garage doors, we recommend to reprogram all of the lights to a single operator, allowing a single unit to control the lights.

To clear the memory on the light:

  1. Press and hold the learn button on the 380LM until the LED next to the learn button goes out, approximately six seconds.
  2. Once the LED goes out, the memory has been erased. Once the memory is erased, reprogram each light to a single jackshaft opener.
    • Note: You can program as many lights into a 3800 or 8500 as you'd like, but the 380LM light itself can only be programmed to one unit.

To reprogram the light to jackshaft opener:

  1. Press and release the learn button on the remote light, the LED next to the learn button will come on indicating the light is in the program mode and will stay on for 30 seconds.
  2. Within 30 seconds, press the light button on the door control, if successful the remote light should flash once. Repeat this step for each light.
    • This method will ensure the lights do not interfere with each other however, you are unable to control each light independently.
    • If the light on the 380LM does not turn on/off when pressing the light button on the door control, the 380LM may no longer be programmed. Before reprogramming the 380LM into the opener, follow the steps above and clear out the 380LM memory, then follow the steps for programming.
