How do I link my myQ and Tesla accounts and enroll in the myQ Connected Garage 30-day free trial?

Steps:

  1. Park your Tesla safely.
  2. Tap the Vehicle Settings icon , then the garage door icon.
  3. Select Link myQ Account from the pull-down menu.
  4. Scan the QR code with your mobile device.
  5. Sign in to myQ or create a new account, then tap Begin Trial.
  6. On the Trial Started page:
    • Select a plan (you won’t be charged until the trial ends), OR
    • Tap Purchase Later, then Finish to complete setup.

What if I see an “Error” message while trying to access my garage from my Tesla?

If you are seeing a persistent Error status on your myQ app, you may need to unlink and relink your myQ account to your vehicle.

To unlink, on your Tesla center touchscreen, complete the following steps:

  1. Tap the Vehicle Settings Icon.
  2. Tap Controls (Tip: You can also access myQ under Locks).
  3. Next to myQ Connected Garage, tap Unlink Account.
  4. Tap Yes on the pop-up confirming you wish to unlink your myQ account.

To relink: your myQ account to your vehicle, follow the above steps above under How do I link myQ and Tesla accounts and enroll in the myQ Connceted Garage 30-day Free Trial?


How can I stop my myQ Device from beeping and flashing?

Make sure the Auto Open/Auto Close feature is enabled and your Tesla has a good GPS signal at the time of closing.
If the GPS signal is weak, the garage door will beep and flash before closing as a safety precaution.

    Which Tesla models are compatible with myQ?

    • All Model Y and Model 3
    • 2021 and newer Model S and Model X.

    Which region supports myQ Connected Garage service? 

    Currently, myQ Connected Garage is available for use within the United States and Canada.


    What service plan options are available for Tesla + myQ functionality?

    There are three service plan options available:

    • 1 year: $45 (auto-renewing)
    • 5 years: $179 (auto-renewing)
    • 10 years: $299 (one-time purchase)

    Can I add another Tesla to my myQ service plan?

    Yes, the Tesla + myQ Connected Garage service plan is linked to your myQ account rather than the vehicle, allowing you to add an additional Tesla.

    To add another Tesla: 

    1. On the additional Tesla you wish to add, follow the linking process as if you are a first-time user
    2. Your compatible myQ devices and paid service plan will be applied to the additional Tesla

    How do I transfer my Tesla service plan to a new Tesla?

    The Tesla + myQ Connected Garage service plan is linked to your myQ account, not to the vehicle itself, enabling you to transfer it to a different Tesla if needed.

    To transfer: 

    1. First, unlink from myQ Connected Garage from your old Tesla
    2. Next, you can link to myQ Connected Garage in your new Tesla. Your compatible myQ devices and paid service plan will be applied to the new Tesla. 

    Can a myQ Co-Owner or a myQ Family & Friend user link myQ Connected Garage with Tesla?

    • Only Co-owners with a paid Tesla subscription can view myQ connected garages and compatible devices.
    • Houshold users cannot access myQ connected garages that were shared with them in their Tesla. 

    What devices can I control/monitor in my Tesla?

    You can control and monitor your myQ-compatible garage door with an active service plan. Click here to see if your garage door opener is myQ compatible.


    How do I cancel my Tesla + myQ Connected Garage service plan?

    You can manage and cancel your service plan by logging into myQ Marketplace with your myQ credentials. After canceling your service plan, you will be able to use the myQ Connected Garage service for the rest of the service plan period that was paid for. Canceling the service plan will not refund the amount already paid for the service plan.


    Do I have to enter my credit card information for a free trial?

    In order to start your free trial, no credit card is needed. If you wish to continue your myQ Connected Garage premium service after the free 30-day trial, you will need to select a service plan from myQ Marketplace and provide a credit card.


    If I have HomeLink installed, can I still link to myQ Connected Garage?

    Yes, you can still enable myQ Connected Garage in compatible Tesla models. To see if your Tesla is compatible, see  Which Tesla Models are compatible with myQ.
