Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener | Unable to Connect to Wi-Fi and There Is No LED

This guide will assist with troubleshooting connection issues when your myQ Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener won’t connect to Wi-Fi and the LED indicator light does not turn on.

Normally, when the opener is attempting to connect to Wi-Fi, the LED will blink in a sequence before turning solid green to confirm a successful connection. If no LED appears, the opener may not be receiving power.

If the LED does not light up at all, the garage door opener may not be receiving power, may be in backup battery mode, Wi-Fi credentials were previously cleared, or does not have built in Wi-Fi as a feature.

Troubleshooting Steps

    1. Confirm power to the opener
      • Disconnect then reconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
      • If your unit has a battery backup, remove the battery. A screwdriver is needed to access the battery compartment.
        • For overhead-installed units, the battery compartment can be located on the back panel or side panel of the unit.
        • For wall-mounted units, the battery compartment is located on the front panel.  Where and how?

    1. Test the wall control
      • Press the wall control to see if the door operates.
        • If the door does not move, continue to step 3.
        • If the unit activates, there is power. Go to step 4.
    2. Test the outlet power by plugging in another device into the same outlet and verifying if it powers on.
      • If the device powers on, replace the receiver logic board.
      • If the device does not power on, check if there is a GFCI outlet in the garage and press the reset button on it to confirm the garage is being supplied with power.
      • If there is no GFCI outlet or hitting the reset button does not help, check the circuit breaker to ensure it has not tripped or the possibility that the electrical outlet is controlled by a light switch.
      • If you are unable to establish power at the outlet, we recommend contacting a certified electrician.
    3. Verify the status of the LED.

Note: If you go through the in-app setup and it fails, resulting in no LED, make sure you are entering the correct Wi-Fi Password. Do not auto-fill or paste it, as it may add extra characters preventing connection.

If you are unsure about your network password, and it has never been changed, it may be on the sticker on the bottom of your router. If it has changed, contact your internet service provider.
