Residential Jackshaft Opener: Replacement Steps for service kit motor 041A6095.

These steps are for replacing motor part number 041A6095. The kit includes the motor, harness and mounting bracket. When servicing electrical products, disconnect all power. When removing wires, note their location for reassembly. Refer to the picture diagram when following these steps.

To replace the motor

1. Disconnect power and unplug battery backup, if equipped.
2. Pull the manual release and manually close the door.
3. Flip up the front panel and disconnect the door control, photo eye and cable tension monitor wires.
4. On the bottom of the operator, locate the two screws that hold the black cover and remove. The cover should flip up. Remove cover.
5. Unplug wires from the logic board. Unscrew the plate holding the logic board and set aside.
6. Remove the c-clip on the pin holding the motor bracket and disconnect assembly together. Push pin it to clear motor bracket.
7. Remove the 4 bolts holding the motor bracket to the chassis.
8. Push up on motor to loosen chain off the sprocket, remove motor.
9. Install new motor, wrap chain around sprocket.
10. Push pin through hole in motor bracket and reinstall the c-clip.
11. Reinstall the 4 bolts for the motor bracket.
12. Reinstall the logic board and reconnect wires to board.
13. Reinstall front panel, reconnect wall control, photo eye and cable tension monitor wires.
14. After installing the motor, reprogram the travel and force limits
