Kia myQ Connected Garage allows you to control and monitor compatible garage door openers from your Kia vehicle touchscreen. This article answers common questions about availability, setup, subscriptions, and supported features.

In which regions can I access Kia myQ Connected Garage?  

This service is currently only available within the U.S. Digital Features and Services may currently be unavailable for model year 2023 and newer vehicles sold in Massachusetts.

Which Kia models are compatible with myQ Connected Garage?  

Kia myQ Connected Garage is available only on Kia vehicles with a ccNC head unit, which includes the 2024 and 2025 Kia EV9, 2025 Kia EV6, 2025 Kia K4, 2025 Kia K5, 2025 Kia Carnival, and 2025 Kia Sorento.   

Do I need to have Kia Connect activated to start a trial or purchase Kia myQ Connected Garage?

Yes, Kia Connect activation is required to purchase and activate Kia myQ Connected Garage. Without Kia Connect activated, Kia myQ Connected Garage will not be operational. 

How do I link my garage door opener?  

• myQ access control requires a myQ-enabled garage door opener or a Smart Garage Control device. Check if your garage door opener is myQ compatible: https://www.myq.com/app/myq-compatibility   
• For non-compatible garage door openers, you’ll be able to get your garage door connected with a discounted Smart Garage Control when you use the Kia Access app to link your Kia and myQ accounts.
• If you are new to myQ, download the myQ Garage & Access Control mobile app onto your mobile device, create an account, and sign in. (https://myq.smart.link/4qacrhob7)  
• Connect your myQ-connected garage door devices via the myQ mobile app using the onscreen setup tutorial and ensure they are controllable via myQ mobile app before linking.   
• Be sure your vehicle is parked safely either inside or outside of your garage before beginning.  
• Ensure there are no garage door obstructions.   

Setup Steps

1. On the vehicle Head Unit (HU) home screen, navigate to the Connected Garage app.
2. Using your mobile phone, scan the QR code.
   • This will launch the Kia Access app and take you to the “Kia Connect Store.” 
3. Scroll down to Connected Garage Door Services and tap on Start Free Trial. 
4. Tap on Link Account. This will launch your myQ mobile app.
5. Tap Authorize to link.  
6. Return to your vehicle HU and launch the Connected Garage app.  

How do I unlink my Kia from Kia myQ Connected Garage?  

1. Launch the Kia Access mobile app.
2. Tap Features, then the Kia myQ Connected Garage tile.
3. Tap Unlink Account.

What service plan options are available for Kia myQ Connected Garage?  

Kia has 3 subscription plan options: 

• 1 year - $45  
• 3 year - $129 
• 5 year - $179  

Do I need to enter my credit card information for a free trial? 

No, your credit card information is not required for the 3-month free trial. However, credit card details are required if you decide to purchase a subscription after your free trial. 

How do I cancel my Kia myQ Connected Garage subscription? 

To cancel your subscription, contact Kia Support.

How can I add a myQ Connected Garage to an additional vehicle?  

The Kia myQ Connected Garage service plan is associated with your vehicle. A Kia myQ subscription is required for each vehicle.    

How do I transfer my Kia Service plan to a new Kia?  

You are unable to transfer a trial or subscription from one vehicle to another.  
 
For example: If you sold your Kia vehicle with an existing trial/subscription and purchased a new myQ-compatible Kia vehicle, you would need to start a new trial or purchase a new subscription for the new vehicle.  
 
Note: If you are selling your vehicle, you can unlink your myQ accounts within the Kia Access mobile app.  

Can a myQ Co-Owner or myQ Family and Friends link myQ Connected Garage with Kia?  

Only co-owners with a paid Kia subscription can view myQ-connected garages and compatible devices.   
Family & Friend users cannot access shared garages in their Kia.   

What myQ devices can I control/monitor in my Kia vehicle?  

You can control myQ-compatible garage door openers via the In-Vehicle-Infotainment touchscreen display. Other devices like gates, locks, cameras, and light controls are not supported.  

How do I set up Geofencing Mode in my vehicle? 

1. Position your vehicle outside of your garage, in front of the garage door, and remain in the parked position with the vehicle powered on.  
2. On the vehicle head unit, navigate to the Connected Garage app. 
3. Tap the garage door tile to enter a settings menu.  
4. To enable auto-open and auto-close features, tap set to set your garage door location.  
5. Tap on the toggles to enable auto-open and auto-close features.  

How do you determine if your garage door opener is Wi-Fi compatible?

How many garage door openers can be displayed on the Kia touchscreen?
