How to Link a myQ Account to IFTTT

Connecting your myQ Garage door opener to IFTTT allows you to automate and control it with ease. Follow these steps to link your myQ account to IFTTT. 

Before You Begin

To link your myQ-enabled garage door opener with IFTTT, the following is required:

• Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • IFTTT App: Downloaded on your smartphone or tablet.

  • Home Wi-Fi Connection: Your home Wi-Fi network should reach your myQ-enabled garage door opener. If necessary, use a Wi-Fi extender to extend the signal to your garage. For details, see How to Test the Wi-Fi Signal Strength in My Garage.

  • Compatible myQ Device: Your garage door opener must be enabled with myQ technology. This includes:

    • A Chamberlain or LiftMaster Wi-Fi garage door opener, or

    • A myQ accessory to upgrade a non-Wi-Fi garage door opener (for more information on myQ compatibility or to purchase an accessory, visit myQ.com).

How to Link from the myQ App 

1. Open the myQ app.
2.  Tap Discover on the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap Partners on the top menu.
4. Scroll down and tap IFTTT.
5. If you do have the IFTTT app, tap Launch to launch the IFTTT app. If you do not have the IFTTT app, tap Get App to download the app and create an account.
6. Open the IFTTT app.

How to Link from the IFTTT App

1. Open the IFTTT app and tap Explore.
2. Search for myQ and tap on it in the search results.
3. Tap myQ icon under the search bar.
4. Tap the Connect button. The myQ authentication page will show up.
5. Enter your myQ credentials and click the Authenticate button.
6. Upon success, you will be redirected back to the IFTTT app.
