Chamberlain Wireless Products - Cannot establish a secure channel with intercoms

When a call is placed from one intercom and answered from another intercom in the network, a secure channel should be created between the two. This will create a private conversation between the two intercoms and the other intercoms cannot hear the conversation.

• On the NLS1 and NLS2 portable intercoms, verify that switch 2 is not up. This is conference mode and allows all intercoms to participate in a call.
• Intercoms on different channels cannot communicate (except paging).
• If one intercom is on paging channel and all others are on different channels, you cannot get a secure channel. For example; intercom 1 is on paging, intercom 2 is on channel 1, and intercom 3 is on channel 3. When talk is pressed on intercom 1 then intercom 2 and intercom 3 will both hear, and cannot get a secure channel. If intercom 3 is on channel 1 with intercom 2, then you can get a secure channel. Paging will broadcast to all channels.
• The wireless doorbell and the indoor/outdoor intercom NTD2 work on the paging channel. If intercoms are on different channels and doorbell is pressed: If the portable intercom NTD2 answers, there is a secure channel between the two. If an intercom answers, all intercoms can hear the doorbell. The portable intercom can communicate only to the doorbell not with the other intercoms. The portable intercom NTD2 cannot join in.
• To avoid communication issues, make sure all intercoms are on the same channel. If using the doorbell and NTD2, use the paging channel on all intercoms.
