How to Find Out Which Keyless Entry I have

There isn't a way to find out exactly what model number a keyless entry is, without taking it off the wall and looking at the back of it. However, we can narrow down the type of keyless entry it is, and attempt to program it.

• If the cover flips up and the keyless entry came with your garage door opener, and the color of the garage door opener learn button is green, red, or purple, then go here for programming.
• If the cover flips up, and was bought recently as a replacement, then program it like a MAX or EV/EVC keyless entry.
• If the cover slides up, and the keyless entry is older than 2005, then try the CLK1 and CLK1R programming.
• If the cover slides up, and the keyless entry is older than 2010, then try the CLK1D and CLK1D2 programming.
• If the cover slides up, and the keyless entry is newer than the above, then try KLIK2U or 387LM and 387LMC programming.

The purchasing date might not be accurate. Therefore, attempt to use two types of programming before removing the keypad from the wall.
