Customize the Open and Close Commands in the myQ App
If you’re using myQ app version 5.236 or later, you can choose how the app controls your garage door:

Single Tap

Press and Hold
🔒 Only account owners with a connected device can access this setting. Guests with shared access will not see this option.
Customize the Open/Close Commands

Open the myQ app.

Tap the Gear Icon in the upper right corner.

Tap Button Preferences.

Choose your preferred option:

Single Tap

Press and Hold

Tap Save. You’ll return to the Home screen.
To confirm the Press and Hold setting works:

Go to the Home screen.

Press and hold the garage door icon until the ring around it turns fully blue.
-
Once the ring is blue, the door will open or close.
